Wendy W.Y. Yung

Wendy Yung is an advocate for good corporate governance in Hong Kong. Prior to founding “Practising Governance” for this cause, Wendy was Executive Director and Company Secretary of Hysan Development Company Limited, and played a key role in developing and implementing its well-recognized corporate governance practices. Over the years, her responsibilities have spanned human resources, corporate communications, as well as commercial operations.

(Representing Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants) Wendy is a member of the Professional Accountants in Business Committee of the International Federation of Accountants, whose focus areas include governance, risks, and sustainability. She is also a co-opted member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority. She previously served as a member of the Listing Committee of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, and the Standing Committee on Company Law Reform.

First trained as a solicitor, Wendy also qualified as a certified public accountant and a chartered secretary in Hong Kong. She is a council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries, and also served as a co-opted council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She graduated with First Class Honours in Law from Oxford University, United Kingdom.

Christopher Hui Ching-yu, JP

Mr. Hui was appointed the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury on 22 April 2020.

Mr. Hui was an Administrative Officer in the Government from 1999 to 2003 and served in the Economic Development Branch, the Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Beijing and the Home Affairs Department. Mr. Hui worked in the banking sector after leaving the Government in 2003 and has worked for the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited for over 10 years. He has been the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Financial Services Development Council since 2019.

Mr. Hui holds Bachelor and Master (Hon) Degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford, and Master of Business Administration Degree from INSEAD. He also attended the Stanford Executive Programme (SEP).

Katherine Ng is the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Policy in the Listing Division. Ms. Ng joined Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (“HKEX”) in 2013. Prior to that, Ms. Ng had served as Political Assistant to the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong Government, worked in an international investment bank and an international law firm in Hong Kong and London. Ms. Ng holds a Master of Arts in Law from Trinity College, University of Cambridge and is a qualified lawyer in both Hong Kong and England & Wales. Ms. Ng has been the Chairman of Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute since December 2018. She is an Advisor to Our Hong Kong Foundation, a Director of the World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong, a fellow of the Aspen Institute and a Member of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance.

Alice Au

Alice Au is a member of Spencer Stuart’s global board of directors and leads Spencer Stuart’s global Financial Services Practice out of Hong Kong. She also leads the Board Practice in Asia Pacific and ran the Private Equity Practice in Asia Pacific from 2011-2019. A global citizen with deep relationships across industries, she brings more than 20 years of executive search and leadership counsel experience to her clients. She helps multinationals, principal investors, Asian and Chinese businesses, as well as family businesses, strengthen their governance practices and succession planning, and build and renew their boards and leadership to meet their strategic goals.

Alice has a bachelor‘s degree in chemical engineering from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. From 2010 to 2012, she served as a part-time member of the Central Policy Unit of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR. From 2013- 2019, she was a member of the Human Capital Committee of the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) in Hong Kong SAR. She has been a member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) Professional Services Advisory Council since 2020. Alice speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Prior to joining Nasdaq through its acquisition of Thomson Reuters Corporate Services, Kevin held various roles within Thomson Reuters (from 2009) including Head of Energy & Power/Utilities industry groups, and IR Commercial ANZ. Kevin transferred to the Sydney offices of Thomson Reuters in 2012 to build and execute commercial strategies to drive growth and retention. Simeon Cheng is the Group Director – Sustainability and Corporate Communications of Vitasoy International Holdings Limited, an international food and beverage company publicly listed in Hong Kong. He is a sustainability professional with 25 years of experience leading the development of sustainability strategies and overseeing implementation in consultancy and corporate environments.

Prior to joining Vitasoy, he has served in environmental and sustainability leadership roles in MTR Corporation and CLP Holdings. He has spoken internationally on sustainability topics and has served in many external roles including being a board member on GRI’s Global Sustainability Standards Board between 2015/2016.

Simeon holds a Fellowship in Chemical Engineering, and also degrees in business administration and law.

Inti Wong is Associate Director of Finance & Governance Centre and Vice President of Supplier Management Committee at Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group. David Simmonds is Group General Counsel, Chief Administrative Officer and Company Secretary of CLP Holdings Limited.

As Group General Counsel, Mr. Simmonds is responsible for the provision of legal and insurance services across the CLP Group and leads a team of lawyers and insurance specialists who provide strategic advice and counsel to CLP Holdings and its subsidiaries. He has extensive infrastructure experience advising on strategic acquisitions and divestments, projects and construction, corporate structuring, regulatory issues and competition laws.

As Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Simmonds is responsible for the Group’s property development and management activities, climate change strategy, special projects of the CEO, and a range of commercial and administrative matters of significance to the Group.

Mr. Simmonds was appointed the Company Secretary of CLP Holdings on 1 January 2016 and he is responsible for the corporate secretarial affairs of CLP Holdings and its subsidiaries.

Mr. Simmonds is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators in England, a Fellow of The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries and a current Vice President of The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries. He is also a member of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macau and The Asia Society.
